Nisan 350Z Carbon Fiber Hoods

Since its inception into the tuning market in 2003, the Nissan 350Z has been more than a heavyweight in the market. The top selling vehicle in the high end sport compact industry, beating out the Mitsubishi EVO 8, Lexus IS 300, Mazda RX8 and the Subaru WRX. High end carbon fiber accessory manufacturers such as VIS Racing, Siebon, Carbon Creations and NIN Autosports have been able to offer a wide variety of carbon fiber products for the 350Z.

Our normal pick for carbon fiber hoods usually lies with industry leading manufacturer VIS Racing, however in the high end Japanese sport compact market we are breaking from the norm and going with newcomer to the industry: Seibon. While VIS does offer an excellent OEM Carbon Fiber Hood for the 350Z as well as its best selling Veilside replica, the Invader hood, Seibon offers some tantalizing new styles not seen on other sport tuners. The one hood from VIS Racing that might fall into this category is the Fuzion hood, which has a unique venting system that fans outward from the center of the hood.

Seibon offers five options for the Nissan 350Z in the way of hoods: The OEM, VS (same as VIS's Invader), the TS, the TSII and the VT style hood. The top photo is of Seibons TSII hood which VIS now offers a version of as well. Next down is the VT hood, a gorgeous and stylish hood however if you plan to install a supercharger on your 350Z we recommend a different hood as the center vent will hit the plenum. Third pic down is a photo of the TS hood, which other than on the Honda S2000 is unique to this car.

Seibon first came into the public eye when it released the CW carbon fiber hood for the Subaru WRX, and since has dominated manufacuring high end carbon fiber components for the top Japanese tuning cars. While thier competitor VIS Racing as dominated the general market, this niche specialization has lead Seibon to revamp thier strategy for the more common tuning cars. While seibon used to offer replicas of VIS's common hoods, Seibon in 2004 redesigned virtually all of their common stock hoods with fresh and cutting edge designs.
