One of the newest and hottest import tuning cars is the Nissan 350z. In 1984 Nissan motors unveiled the first 300zx and with a retrofitting in 1990, this car became a legend for enthusiasts, but debateably missed out on the import tuning explosion of the late 90s. After the dismantling of the 300zx in 1996, enthusiasts were eager for a new version of this gorgeous car.

At the Detroit auto show in 1998, Nissan debuted the first look of the 350z. Although the public reception of this new car was lukewarm, Nissan held back release on the car until 2003 where in that time span it had time to refine and finish this beautiful car. Upon release to the public, this car has become an instant classic with it beautifully crafted styling, gorgeous interior and superb handling.

This time around, the 350z has garnered the attention of all import tuning enthusiasts and in a short time has demanded the attention of the public forcing aftermarket performance manufacturers to work nonstop to release thier shot at an upgrade to this car.

OUR FAVORITE BODY KITS FOR THE NISSAN 350Z:

Our First pick for the Nissan 350Z is the Vizage Type B ground effects kit. This kit made by JP USA is a quality and durable ground effects kit, meaning that it bolts on to the existing bumpers as an add on. The Vizage kits are made from a very pliable yet strong poly urethane composite. These kits also include a very professional installation kit consisting of precise install instructions plust all mounting bolts and hardware. The Visage kit is also very distinguished looking, giving the car an aggressive non OEM look.

A close second would be the other kit offered by Vizage, the Type A ground effects kit. This gorgeously styled kit graced the cover of Turbo Magazine a few months back and for good reason. This body kit gives the 350Z a near "Exotic" car feel, making the front end much more sporty and low profile rather than blunt in the front end of the vehicle. The only thing keeping this from being our favorite kit is that is made from fiberglass rather than polyurethane, however the crafing of this kit is superb all the same.

Our third pic for a Nissan 350Z Body Kit would have to go to domestic styling manufacturer Kaminari. The Kaminari kit is an OEM Grade urethane ground effects kit that also comes with applicable mounting hardware and instructions. Kaminari kits are handbuilt to order, usually taking about 2 weeks for each kit to be sent out. Installation can be performed by most body shops and does not require an extensive amount of work.

  1. N1 - Styled after the Nismo kit, this common kit is always a favorite in the import tuning community. N1 kits are generally reasonably priced and made by many of the common manufacturers such as VIS Racing, Extreme Dimensions and VFiber. Also availible from VIS racing and from Carbon Creations are N1 Carbon Fiber body kits, and VIS has also released a carbon fiber front lip that mounts to your existing bumper.
  2. Buddy Club 2 Special Edition Widebody- as with all of the kits made by botique exterior styling manufacturer BuddyClub 2, this kit is pleasing to the eye and when fit correctly is absolutely stunning. Drawbacks are the relatively think use of fiberglass and the difficulty in installation since the fender flares must be molded into the body. Another drawback to the BuddyClub 2 body kits are the time it takes to complete, these kits are handcrafted and usually take around 3 weeks or more to be shipped out.
  3. Invader - The Invader is basically a design based on the worlds most elite ground effects manufacturer "veilside". This common platform has become a big hit in the import tuning community, not just for the body kits but for the Invader stly carbon fiber hoods as well.

Tips:

Before you purchase your body kit or during shipping time, it is a good idea to make sure that you have a qualified installer for your body kit. If you are purchasing a fiberglass kit, it is especially important to find one that can specifically deal with the alterations that may be required to fit your kit correctly. Fiberglass kits in general need some finishing work during installation, such as sanding, primering, filling pinholes/gaps, trimming or shaving. Many times, our customers are charged more than they should if they use a shop who is not familiar with altering fiberglass because of the additional time involved.

Also be sure that whoever is recieving the kit inspects the contents of the box before they sign for it. Although most shipments are recieved undamaged, it is possible that your shipment may be. Because we are not in control of the freight company and thier policies, you must inspect the kit before you sign for it and if it is damaged either refuse the kit and note it on the delivery invoice so that we can file a claim for you.
