Accord Carbon Fiber Hoods

Since 1990, Honda's popular sport compact, the Accord has made wakes in the tuning industry. While not quite as popular as the Civic, the Accord still garners a large percentage of the tuning market. Carbon Fiber Hoods, Trunk, Ground Effects kits and more have become abundant for the Accord from high end manufacturers such as VIS, Seibon, Carbon Creations, TCS Sportline and Nin Autosports.

The industry leading manufacturer, VIS Racing, retains a dominant hold on the carbon fiber industry. Vis Racing has made a name for itself by providing products made from high modulus carbon fiber weaved to perfection. These hoods are finished by a urethane clear coat that gives the hood a glossy look. All VIS racing hoods also come with an OEM latch and fiberglass underbody reinforcement skeleton to give these lightweight hoods more stability.

In 2003, based on the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO7, VIS Racing released the EVO style hood with two top mounted induction ports.This hood has been the top seller in the Accord category until recently when the GForce style hood was released. The GForce style hood is manufactured by TCS, and is branded as the Supersport and the VStyle hood by other companies selling the same type of hood. The Vstyle hood looks similar to how it sounds with a VShaped forward cowl induction port. For the 98-02 Honda Accord, the same hood is used for both the Accord Coupe and Accord Sedan. While not exactly the same, the Coupe style hood placed on the sedan creates a unique induction port at the nose of the car that can be left open or filled with mesh. Other hoods manufactured by VIS Racing include the Extreme GT with two raised reverse induction ports that run up the center of the hood, and the previous best selling Invader style hood that replicates the Veilside Accord hood.

Seibon has hit the market by storm with best selling hoods for Japans high end tuning cars such as the 350Z, RX8, G35 and WRX. Technology has trickled down to thier Civic hoods in the form of the XT, VSII, EVO and OEM style hoods. The XT, EVO and VSII hoods follow the same lines as thier VIS counerparts, but design changes have allowed for a more sophisticated and stylish design.
