The 1997 Honda Prelude is the fourth generation for the Japanese auto makers sport coupe. Competing with the Toyota Solara and Nissan 240SX, the Honda Prelude was a light and aerodynamic front wheel drive sports car. The 1997 Honda Prelude resembled its second generation model with its updated styling but keeping the boxy lines of the original sports coupe. The Honda Prelude became a hit in sport compact tuning comunities although sales calmed down until 2001 when the Prelude was discontinued.

OUR FAVORITE BODY KITS FOR THE HONDA PRELUDE:

Our first body kit pick for the 1997 Honda Prelude would be the Avenger kit by Wings West. This kit is a full bumper replacement kit made from a polyurethane material. The Wings West Avenger kit is aggressively styled similar to the Veilside/Invader stle body kits made popular in Japan. The kit is crafted from a flexible and durable OEM quality material. Installation of the kit can be performed from most body shops and installation hardware and instructions is provided. The kit gives the car a sporty look without being overly aggressive, and compliments the lines of the stock Prelude.

Our second pic for an Acura RSX Body Kit would have to go to domestic styling manufacturer Kaminari. The Kaminari kit is an OEM Grade fiberglass ground effects kit that also comes with applicable mounting hardware and instructions. Kaminari kits are handbuilt to order, usually taking about 2 weeks for each kit to be sent out. Installation can be performed by most body shops and does not require an extensive amount of work even though the kit is made from fibergass.

As far as the common style body kits go, we like to use the VIS racing or AIT manufactured kits. These two companies manufacture the Black Widow, Octane, Omega, Buddy Club and Extreme style body kits. These fiberglass kits also provide a stylish alternative to more expensive kits at only $499 including shipping to a commecial address.

  1. Octane R34 Kit - Styled after the Nissan R34 Skyline, this common kit is always a favorite in the import tuning community. R34 kits are generally reasonably priced and made by many of the common manufacturers such as VIS Racing, Extreme Dimensions and VFiber.
  2. Buddy Club - a classic style body kit that is and has always been a favorite due to its non OEM stlye looks without being too overbearing to the styling cues of the vehicle.
  3. Invader - The Invader is basically a design based on the worlds most elite ground effects manufacturer "veilside". This common platform has become a big hit in the import tuning community, not just for the body kits but for the Invader stly carbon fiber hoods as well.

Tips:

Before you purchase your body kit or during shipping time, it is a good idea to make sure that you have a qualified installer for your body kit. If you are purchasing a fiberglass kit, it is especially important to find one that can specifically deal with the alterations that may be required to fit your kit correctly. Fiberglass kits in general need some finishing work during installation, such as sanding, primering, filling pinholes/gaps, trimming or shaving. Many times, our customers are charged more than they should if they use a shop who is not familiar with altering fiberglass because of the additional time involved.

Also be sure that whoever is recieving the kit inspects the contents of the box before they sign for it. Although most shipments are recieved undamaged, it is possible that your shipment may be. Because we are not in control of the freight company and thier policies, you must inspect the kit before you sign for it and if it is damaged either refuse the kit and note it on the delivery invoice so that we can file a claim for you.
