The Acura RSX is the replacement model for Acura's popular entry level Integra model. The RSX is also the entry level model for the current Acura line of vehicles. OUR FAVORITE CARBON FIBER MANUFACTURERS FOR THE ACURA RSX: Our favorite manufactures for Carbon Fiber Hoods, Trunks and Fenders for the Acura RSX are VIS Racing and Seibon. Both of these companies provide the highest quality in carbon fiber prodcuts such as the highly popular carbon fiber hoods. Lately the import tuning trend has created the demand for other carbon fiber products such as carbon fiber trunk lids and hatches. Both VIS and Seibon are known for thier use of high modulus carbon fiber in thier products. These products are in high demand because they are a light weight and durable material as compared to steel hoods and fiberglass hoods. Apart from that, most of the carbon fiber hoods are availible in several new race inspired vented models that help to release heat from the engine compartment and induct cool air into the vehicles intake system to improve performance. We recommend these two brands because they both are known for attention to detail and key features on all of thier hoods: Urethane clear coat provides protection and a glossy shine to the hoods. Typically we have found that both Seibon and VIS carbon fiber hoods have been much more resilient to both fading and UV discoloration. These hoods also utilize a solid fiberglass underbody skeleton to keep the hood more rigid than standard carbon fiber hoods under high speeds. In addition, the carbon fiber is rolled at the edges to prevent fraying of the carbon fiber material. Each hood comes with an OEM latch similar to the one found on the stock hood, however we do recommend using hood pins for added security. INSTALLATION TIPS: Carbon Fiber Hoods and Hatches are relatively easy to install compared to most aftermarket products, however we do recommend having a body shop install your hood. Your installer may use the stock bolts from your car, in most cases just four (two on each side in the rear) to attach the new hood. Most cars have two setting pins up front that may need to be adjusted for vertical height when the hood is closed. Do not slam the hood down after attaching the hood because adjustments may need to be done to either the rear attachment bolts or the front setting pins. We have had some clients damage there hoods by shutting them hard without checking how the hood sits while closed. Note: Carbon Fiber Hoods will fit closely to your OEM hood without any major gaps, however if your car had been in some kind of front end accident the hood may not fit correctly. If your car has been in an accident, make sure the car is fixed to OEM spec because even the smallest variation in the body, frame or latch may affect the hoods fit.
