ABOUT THE CHEVY CAVALIER :

  • Models - Sedan and Coupe
  • Model History- 2nd Gen model from 1995-99, then slight modifcation to the headlight area 2000-02, and another remodel for the 2003-2004 years. In 2005 the Cavalier was discontinued and replaced by the Chevy Cobalt.

The sport compact scene has been largely dominated by import cars such as the Honda Civic, Acura Integra, Mitsubishi Eclipse and the like. While once upon a time, domestic cars such as the Ford Mustang and Pontiac GTO ruled the streets but the new generation has shown much more of an interest in sport compact cars rather than muscle cars.

Domestically speaking, one car stands out as a rival to the top import tuners, the Chevy Cavalier. This domestic sport compact has steadily gained in popularity since its inception in 1995 and its latest redesign in 2003. In 2005, the Cavalier has been replaced by the Chevy Cobalt. Though the Cobalt will now be heir to the throne in the domestic sport compact arena, the Cavalier will still be around for quite a while. OUR FAVORITE BODY KITS FOR THE CHEVY CAVALIER:

For the 1999-2002 Chevy Cavalier, our favorite body kit is the Blazer style. We like the styling of this body kit because of the semi aggressive look that is both sporty and stylish yet not too overbearing. This kit is made by several manufacturers including Extreme Dimensions, VIS Racing and AIT Racing. We would also recommend upgrading the front bumper on this kit to the Urethane version. Although there is not a full urethane version availible, we do sell a popular kit that consists of the urethane front bumper and fiberglass sideskirts and rear bumper. The urethane front is much more durable than the fiberglass version and is easier to fit and install because of the flexibility in the materials used.

Our second pic for the Chevy Cavalier is the EVO 5 body kit. The EVO 5 is a specialty kit that is popular among tuning enthusiasts because of its foglight holes that house a 7 inch halogen foglamp. Although many companies have started to build replicas of the EVO 5 kit, we like to use the factory original kits made by JT Autostyle. This company is a botique manufacturer that makes the kits in house and builds them to order. Most kits take about 5-7 days to complete and ship out. The EVO 5 kit uses a unique trapezial rear center exhaust system. Although some opt to use thier own exhaust and fill in the center port in the rear with a mesh, we like the unique looks of the center exhaust availible from the manufacter.

  1. Octane R34 Kit - Styled after the Nissan R34 Skyline, this common kit is always a favorite in the import tuning community. R34 kits are generally reasonably priced and made by many of the common manufacturers such as VIS Racing, Extreme Dimensions and VFiber.
  2. Buddy Club 2- a contemporary style body kit that is and has always been a favorite due to its non OEM stlye looks without being too overbearing to the styling cues of the vehicle.
  3. Invader - The Invader is basically a design based on the worlds most elite ground effects manufacturer "veilside". This common platform has become a big hit in the import tuning community, not just for the body kits but for the Invader stly carbon fiber hoods as well.

Tips:

Before you purchase your body kit or during shipping time, it is a good idea to make sure that you have a qualified installer for your body kit. If you are purchasing a fiberglass kit, it is especially important to find one that can specifically deal with the alterations that may be required to fit your kit correctly. Fiberglass kits in general need some finishing work during installation, such as sanding, primering, filling pinholes/gaps, trimming or shaving. Many times, our customers are charged more than they should if they use a shop who is not familiar with altering fiberglass because of the additional time involved.

Also be sure that whoever is recieving the kit inspects the contents of the box before they sign for it. Although most shipments are recieved undamaged, it is possible that your shipment may be. Because we are not in control of the freight company and thier policies, you must inspect the kit before you sign for it and if it is damaged either refuse the kit and note it on the delivery invoice so that we can file a claim for you.
